Project Title: Arora Hotel, Gatwick

Client: Arora Developments

Hulley contact: Gordon McInnes

Arora International Hotel opened at the end of 2001 to provide a commercial hotel close to Gatwick Airport. The hotel is formed by a five storey and a three storey block on either side of a three storey atrium.

The Lower Ground and Ground including the Atrium provide guest space which includes a restaurant supported by a full kitchen facility, bar, lounge, conference room, meeting rooms and retail outlet. Additional facilities include a franchised gymnasium and a public house.

Roof mounted air handling units, chillers and boilers serve all the hotel areas where all rooms are comfort cooled using four pipe fan coil units.

The atrium is served by underfloor heating and a displacement ventilation system. Five lifts are installed of which two are scenic glass sided.

State of the Art audio visual facilities were installed by specialists in the Ground Floor Conference Suite. This system is fully integrated with the lighting, heating and ventilation controls. A structured cabling system is installed to serve the integrated hotel system, telephone and data systems and digital TV to all bedrooms.

All bedrooms are provided with key card access systems which fully integrate with the hotel control system to control heating, lighting and ventilation.
