Project Title: School of Business Management- University of St Andrews
Client: University of St Andrews
Project Value: £3m
Hulley contact: Michael O’Donnell
The Gateway building in St Andrews was bought by the University of St Andrews in December of 2003 with a view to creating a new School of Business Management. The installed services were stripped out to allow an internal re-fit to suit new proposed use and space plans, whilst retaining all central plant and infrastructure.
Hulley & Kirkwood provided full strip out specification and drawings within three weeks of formal appointment, and fit out drawings and specifications within four weeks thereafter to suit the two stage tendering process identified to allow project completion by August 2004. Services installations comprised airside control four pipe fan coil units, full fresh-air handling plant with integral heat recovery along with low pressure hot water systems and chilled water systems. A network of cut screed channels were also created within flexible office floors to allow the retro fitting of in screed cable trunking and associated power and data systems to meet the University’s requirements for flexibility. A Cat 6 data cabling system was specified to network all communications including AV systems effectively. The development was completed in July 2006.
