This 304 bed Hospital features a single-storey Out-Patient Department and Accident & Emergency Area with a multi-level Ward Block. The Hospital also features a radical ward design, allowing for better deployment of Nursing Staff to meet the ever changing needs of patients.
Full provision has been made for computer facilities in Wards and Departments to assist the efficient provision of care.
The Client’s Project Management Team was charged with the task of designing and building the Hospital within five years whilst retaining traditional competitive Tender Methods.
The Contract procedures employed the usual documentation but with only 60% of the bills being firm based on Completed Designs, the balance made up of indicative bills from preliminary information.
The 60% firm bills contained the external works, the structure, the external wall and roof and all of the major engineering items. The Complex was handed over in Phases, from inception to completion, the final Ward Areas were completed in five years.
