September 2001 saw the topping out of the £45M Private Finance Initiative at St George’s Acute Hospital Accommodation Unit. This represented the start of the final phase of the development which started over 3 years ago with the original Invitation to Tender.
The extension to the existing hospital comprises of over 24,000m2 of accommodation space including Theatres, Radiology, Intensive Care and General Ward space. Extensive Outpatient Facilities were also provided serving the Cardiothoracic and Neuroscience’s Departments.
Hulley and Kirkwood have supported MJ Gleeson through the Bid Process providing Design and Technical Support. This has culminated in the appointment of SES Ltd to provide the Mechanical and Electrical Services element of the Works.
