London Nautical School

Schools

Project Title: London Nautical School

Project Value: £9.5m

Hulley contact: Gordon McInnes

The London Nautical School was founded in 1915, as a consequence of the official report into the loss of the “Titanic”. In 1990 it became one of the country’s first 11-18 Comprehensive Secondary Schools for Boys to be awarded grant maintained status. In September 1999, it became a Foundation School within the London Borough of Lambeth.  Hulleys were involved in the new extension, which incorporates a sports gymnasium with changing facilities and a separate exercise area.  The upper floors provide education facilities including dedicated music rooms.  A roof relaxation area is also provided with cafeteria for Sixth Form students.  Major refurbishment and remodelling occured for the existing buildings to maintain the high standard teaching facilities.
