New Build Secondary School Accommodation procured through a two stage design process. Built on a site of a school that had closed a few years earlier in a densely populated area of inner city Clapham Common, the school forms part of the Government’s Academy programme, and is sponsored by the United Learning Trust (ULT). Because of the restricted site, the school was planned as a three storey building around a small courtyard. The slope of the site allowed an open-sided, covered playground to be created beneath the hall, providing a useful play area in periods of bad weather.
