Financial Close Achieved at Dumfries & Galloways

09.01.08

Hulley & Kirkwood are delighted to be part of the Consortium which has successfully signed a contract to build nine new schools in Dumfries and Galloway and refurbish another building.

The Public Private Partnership deal - worth more than £100m - was agreed between the council and Education for Dumfries and Galloway (E4D&G).

Construction is due to start later this year with the first new school expected to be completed in 2009.

The project will see primary schools built in Castle Douglas, Heathhall, Kirkcudbright, Lockerbie and Thornhill, as well as a Dumfries Roman Catholic school.

Secondaries in Thornhill and Lockerbie and an "all through" primary and secondary in Moffat are included in the project.

Major refurbishment works will also take place at Stranraer Academy.
