Meadows Gateway is an exciting development to enhance the approach into Nottingham City Centre aimed to establish a viable mixed-use development that maximises the potential of the area including extensive regeneration and sustainability and the linkage of the residential estates to the city centre.
Situated on a site close to Nottingham train station, the 50,000m2 development incorporates a combination of retail, commercial and residential facilities, student accommodation and a community centre.
H&K were appointed as technical M&E advisors and had to incorporate a sustainable approach to the building design with consideration of the following;
- Conservation of energy;
- Conservation of resources;
- Designs to allow future adaptability and re-use;
- Location of buildings to incorporate Green infrastructure best practice.
All buildings were tested against BREEAM to maximize the potential for recycling and energy efficiency.
