Project Title: Project SLAM

Client: Ministry of Defence/ Defence Estates/Debut

Project Value: £1.6bn

Hulley contact: Ian McNeil

SLAM is a £1.6bn project presently underway with the Ministry of Defence and Defence Estates, for the provision of new, modern living accommodation for single soldiers, sailors and airmen of all ranks throughout the MoD Estates in the United Kingdom.

The accommodation varies in terms of specific needs on particular establishments, together with further variants depending on rank and seniority. The project is being undertaken by Debut Services Ltd, incorporating Bovis Lend Lease and Babcock. The project is to be carried out over an initial five year period, with the possibility of being extended for a further five year term.

The works incorporate modular as well as steel frame new build buildings for accommodation together with the refurbishment of existing buildings, some of which are of listed status.

The SLAM Project is being implemented from our Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol and Epsom Offices at present, with the intention of expanding this work into other offices, as the geography of the project dictates.
